Helen of Troy was said to be one of the most beautiful women in the whole of Greece.
She was carried off by Theseus but then she was rescued by her brothers.
Helens suitors came from all over the world and from among them, she chose Menalaus.
During an absence of Menelaus, however, Helen fled to Troy with Paris, son of the Trojan king Priam.
Paris was slain, so Helen married Paris' brother, Deiphobus, whom she betrayed to Menelaus when Troy was subsequently captured.
Menelaus and she then returned to Sparta where they lived happily until their deaths.
