The rose and the cactus

Once upon a time in a land far, far away there lived a beautiful rose and a prickly cactus. They did not get along very well
Look at my beautiful petals! You are so prickly and nasty-looking compared to me
That's not a very nice thing to say!
Oh no! My beautiful petals are wilting in this heat.
One summer it was very, very hot and it did not rain at all
I like this weather! I've got lots of water stored inside of me.
Look! there's even a bird drinking some of my water!
Can I have some water too? I am terribly thirsty.
Of course you can!
And from then on they lived together as friends and appreciated just how beautiful each of them were
Thank you, I feel much better now!
