- Sure Sonny! An IPO is an Initial Public Offering. It's a companies first offering to the public, shares of the their company.
- Hey, my friend was talking about some IPO, you think you could explain what it is and its process?

- Ahh...I understand. But wait, does that mean IPOs are an example of a primary market, and what is a secondary market in that case? I'm still confused.
- Yea sure. So yes, an IPO is an example of a primary market, because a primary market is where securities are first issued. On the other hand, a secondary market is where investors buy/sell securities that have already been issued.

- Hey I was wondering after I did more research, expanding on different markets, what are bonds future markets?
- Heyy Sonny, don't sweat it. Yea so a bond market is a marketplace for debt securities, and a futures market an auction market in which participants buy and sell commodity and futures contracts for delivery on a specified future date.
