American Independence and Westward Expansion

In 1754, the French and Indian war began because there was a dispute between British and America over land. This is one of the things that caused the American Revolution.
The proclamation of 1763 stopped people from traveling west from the Appalachian Mountains. The British did this so they could control the westward expansion.
The Stamp Act of 1765 was an actthat British enforced that taxed paper goods. Loyalists were in favor of this new tax because they were loyal to the British.
On the other hand, patriots didn't approve of the Stamp Act. They were also known as the Liberty Boys.
No more taxes!
The Declaration of Independence was signed to Declare Independence from Britain. It was signed on July 4, 1776. Lyman Hall was one of the 56 signers.
The battle of Kettle Creek was on February 14, 1779. It was the first major victory for the patriots during the Revolutionary War. A few months after this battle, there was another battle called the Siege of Savannah, in which the British won.
