Finally, they arrive at their destination. The arsenal is poorly defended, so they break in easily.
They enter the arsenal and arm themselves. Their revolt relies on a small army of slaves. However, no one has showed up.

Eventually word gets out, and local townsfolk attack the arsenal. Not a single slave joins the revolt.
At dawn, the US Marines arrive and storm the arsenal under the command of Colonel Robert E. Lee. The soldiers overwhelm Brown and his men.
Eventually, Brown is captured and imprisoned. His sons were killed.

I John Brown am now quite certain that the crimes of this guilty land will never be purged away, but with Blood.
He's convicted of treason, and sentenced to death by hanging. He's executed on Dec. 2nd, 1859.
