inertia is when an object is basically at rest, and then wait for a force to make it move
That sounds a little like Newtons first law of motion
That is exactly right, Newtons first law talks about inertia and how an object will only move if a force acts on it
RIGHT! How could I forget, An object at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon
Yup that's right, just like when you kicked the soccer ball
Another example is me opening the door, with a little force I'll change its position
