As other countries were focused on Africa, Germans suddenly invaded Russia in a huge project called Operation Barbarossa.

Japanese in South-East Asia
Lebensraum, or land to live in, was being gained extremely quickly and successfully until winter came along. Troops were suffering but Hitler ordered them to keep going.

Oh god.
Meanwhile, Japan's decision to bomb a US fleet at Pearl Harbor causes the US to join the war even though they did not want to directly participate at first.
Germans and Japanese troops faced similar hardships as they were starting to be brought down by Russia and the US respectively.
Soon enough, Germany and Japan were being surrounded and invaded and had no choice but to surrender.
This DEFINITELY isn't looking good for us...
