In the late 18th century, the Ancient Regime, France, was unequal. The society was divided up into 3 parts. (Clergy, Nobility, Commoners).

In 1799 General Napoleon Bonaparte Seized power.

Napoleon took control, ending the French Revolution and starting the era of Napoleon.

Napoleon took control in the Coup of 18 Brumaire and turned the Republic into the French Empire. While the Revolution didn’t stop a new ruler from rising, it still inspired other revolutions and ideas about freedom and rights around the world.
