Lets make a tariff on imported goods
This will surely not divide up the country
Andrew Jackson decided to make a tariff to impel new business men to create their business now that Britain had a tariff on imported goods, he didn't foresee the conflict that would occur once he made the tariff.

While the North thrived the South was struggling. Many southerners felt like the tariff was targeted for the north and they felt that it divided the country
