- Zamperini, is violently beaten by, 'The Bird'. Zamperini's courage and strength in the face of adversity is despised by The Bird, and he is consequentially beaten as a result.

- Deep, heavy breathing
- Zamperini, violently wounded, reflects on his life, recounting his most memorable moments. The Bird, mixed with shock and awe, sits on his knees accordingly, overwhelmed by Louie's unbroken spirit.
