Rules of the ICOJ
Only Sovereign States an bring cases before the ICJ, and countries must consent to the court’s jurisdiction. Its decisions are binding, and if a country refuses to comply, the issue can be referred to the UN Security Council

Pending Case
One current case is South Africa v. Israel, where South Africa alleges that Israel violated the Genocide Convention during the Gaza conflict. The ICJ is currently considering the legal arguments and provisional measures related to the case.
