- Now let's solve it. First, you combine distributive property and like terms, but since there aren't any here let's just move on. Next, you collect the variables on one side and the constant on the other while also doing inverse operation. Lastly, you just do exactly what you do in one-step problems which is isolate the variable by doing inverse operation. This brings us to the answer m = 9. We check that by doing 264 - 4 * 9 = 228 and 282 - 6 * 9 = 228. Since both equations equal 228 our answer is right that it will take 9 minutes for both the pouches to have the same amount of coins
- 264 - 4m = 282 - 6m264 + 2m = 2822m = 18m = 9It will take 9 minute for both pouches to have the same amount of coins.
