- Menelaus challenges Paris to fight for Helen, but Paris losses. Therefore the war isn't over.

- Agamemnon is distressed because they are losing very badly and tries to convince Achilles to fight, but he is going home
- Achilles we need you in order to win this war. We are losing!

- The Trojans and the Achaeans continue to fight. Both sides have many injured people
- Patroclus goes out disguised in Achilles armor and kills many Trojans, which causes them to retreat, but ends up being to ambitious and gets killed
- Achilles is upset that Patroclus dies, so he returns to battle and swears to kill Hector.
