- A futuristic house in Allendale, California. It's August 4, 2026. The House's automatic alarm clock speaks and announces it is 7 o'clock, but nobody wakes up; it seems the house is empty.
- FIRE! FIRE!

- Outside the house, the kids are playing and the parents are doing some yard work. The sky is charred black in the ghost town.
- The dog survives the nuclear blast and goes home, he is automatically let in. The dog whimpers, but there is nobody to greet him. He passes away due to radiation sickness. Then a hoard of mechanical mice come out to clean up his remains.
- Today is August 5, 2026!

- The house catches on fire. The house automatically sets off the fire prevention systems, but it is unable to contain and stop the fire from growing.

- This was the last house standing. The house burns to the ground and is left in a pile of rubble. The last house is now gone.
- The only part of the house that remained standing was the west wall, and over the intercom, a voice repeated the same phrase over and over. "Today is August 5, 2026. Today is August 5, 2026."
