- After Mary's visit from the angel, Gabriel, she set out for the house of Zechariah and Elizabeth in Judean.
- Upon Mary's arrival, Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and said, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb." Elizabeth knew that Mary was carrying the Son of God.
- Mary celebrates and rejoices with Elizabeth. They bless the Lord for giving her the opportunity to take part in his creation, and be his servant. Mary stayed with Elizabeth for three months before returning home in Nazareth.
