Using their knowledge of astronomy, Maya people built the Haab calendar. It was one of the most accurate calendars every created.
The mayans built the most acurate calendar based on their incredible knowledge of astronomy and mathematics. The haab calendar has a month thats called the Wayeb which only has 5 days.
The Haab calendar has 365 days and the calendar restarts everytime the earth completes a lap around the earth. They knew this by using shadow casting devices and observing the horizon.
The Long count calendar was used to date important historical events and mythical creatures. This calendar ends in 2012 and people thought that the world was going to end.
