- When he was older, Henry's enslaver sold his wife and kids. Henry watched, heartbroken, as they got taken away. He knew he would never see them again.

- Henry endured a long, uncomfortable journey inside of a small wooden box. He traveled for many days until he finally reached freedom in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

- Henry's first enslaver was not hard on him. When he died, Henry and his family were sold to his son, who was mean and beat his workers when they made a mistake.
