Plessy was 1/8th black and thereofre he had to sit in the side of the train where black people sat at, plessy refused to sit their which it turned into a huge problem.

the court decided that racially seperate faculties, if equal, did not viloate the constitution. segregation, court said, was not discrimination.
if equal, did not violate the constitution. segreation was not discrimination.
what about the 13th and 14th amendments??
Ferguson at the supereme court, arguing that the segregation law violated the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th amendment, as well as the 13th amendment that prohibited slavery.
Plessy thought the 14th admendment was unfair and he thought he should be able to ride the same car as white people.
This is so unfair!
The court detained the law was constitutional. In opinion authored by Justice Henry Billings Brown, the majority upheld-state imposed racial segregation.
The court decided to establish the rule called "seperate but equal".
