- When I was a young policeman I received a call for a child who fell out the window
- when I arrived my sergeant and I were directed to the rear of the building
- I looked around and found a piece of plastic Q decking that I used to immobilize the child we
- where we saw a child on the ground who had severe head injuries the injuries
- we decided to drive the child to the hospital in our police car
- Tried to get a response time for the ambulance but one was not available
- prior to leaving we called over the radio to have other police units block major intersections to help speed are traveled to the hospital
- We arrived at the emergency room and turned the child over to the staff
- we then returned to the location to investigate what happened
- we were able to determine that a teenager who was watching the baby and her apartment had been in one room while the baby went into a bedroom and pushed a bed away from the window that didn't have any child guards and climb to the window and fell
