Before we jump ahead to climate change, I think I should provide you with some scientific basics.
Ok, so tell me about photosynthesis. Isn't that where plants use the sun to make their own food?
It's a little more complicated. but yes it is. There are two different stages of photosynthesis.
In Phase 1, plants abosorb light energy through the chloroplast. This is referred to as light dependent.
Chloroplasts are organelles where the pigment chlorophyll captures energy from sunlight and converts it into energy

But wait there's more!
In Phase 2 of photosynthesis, chemical reactions convert water from the soil and carbon dioxide from the air into glucose. This is referred to as light independent.
