Gandhi was born in India in 1869.He had rich parents.His parents decided to send him to england to study law
Gandhi worked as a lawyer in South Africa for 22 years
When Gandhi returned to India it was ruled by Britain as it was for 200 years.Gandhi wanted peace and independence.
So Gandhi decided to protest and one of his most famous protest is the salt march
Gandhi was looking for an issue to bring everyone together.He chose salt so he walked 250 miles from his headquarters to the coast and this was illegal.
Eventually Gandhi was arrested but protest still went on.Twenty years later Britain was so weak due to the world war the British gave independence to India
