- Freud studied the eight different defense mechanisms. The Ego uses methods in order to reduce anxiety by unconsciously changing perceived reality. One of the eight is displacement, this is when you shift your impulses to a more acceptable object or person. I play softball when I am angry so I can project my emotion into something safely.

- Alfred Alder believes that our birth order impacts childhood personality tension. Your behaviors are driven to overcome your inferiority complex. For me I know that I feel like no one listens to me or cares to listen to what I am saying especially when trying to tell a story to my dad.

He also studied about extraverted and introverted traits. For me I know that I really enjoy being around people and have been told I am an extrovert, but some people are not.
