- Adolescents have become immersed in technology. They become distracted by the mindlessness variety of apps (instagram, twitter, snapchat) and often need redirection to stay on task to finish and complete what is most important. Attention span has shortened as teens are more worried about checking social media.
- Technology that is not being used for educational purposes become a distraction in the classroom. It also hurts the richness between face-to-face communication inside classrooms and limits basic social skills in face to face environments.
- Adolescents high use of technology is decreasing the amount of time spent being physically active. A sedentary and mindless act eliminates movement and potentially increases weight gain in our youth.
