- In this scene, Prince has gone to see the Trade Union Organiser to discuss and learn more about trade unions and how they work. She ofcourse does this in the afternoon after work so that this does not affect her work.
- Good afternoon Mr John.
- Good afternoon Miss Prince, it is a pleasure to meet you.
- In this scene, Prince explains to John that she is interested in being a member of a trade union, however she does not fully know and understand how they operate and how they assist workers, she also wants to understand as to why they help workers and what they benefit form it. These are all the things an employee should ask before deciding on joining a trade union, they need to be fully aware of what is going to take place.
- I and a few of my co-workers are interested in being a part of a Trade Union.
- How may i be of your assistance today?
- In this scene, John explains to Prince what a trade union is, he futher explains that trade unions are put in place because sometimes workers have many issues with management and that no matter how many times they have tries to adress the issue no changes occure and sometimes the issue becmes worse. he explains that workers are also threatend by management for complaining and simply following their rights, therefore this is why trade unions exist to assist with such matters in the workplace.
- Okay, so a Trade Union is.........
- In this scene, John explains to Prince that she as a worker has the right to be a member of a trade union if is she wants to. He further explains to her that trade unions shouldn't be considered as threats to management if they do their ork properly and ensure that their workers are treated fairly at all times.
- So does this mean i won't get into any trouble with my superior?
- No you won't, every worker has the right to be a member.
- What else can trade unions offer?
- In this scene, John is explaining to Pince that trade unions deal with issues involving wages, benefits, conditions of employment, job security, employment practices, training and health and safety. He also goes on to explai that there are different trade unions including FAWU, NEHAWU, COSATU, ect. He also informs her that she is able to choose which one she would like to join, he also advices her to do a bit of research about this and gives her pamphlets that explain all the things you need to know about rade unions.

- In this scene, when Prince gets home she immedialty goes through the pamphelts and also does some research on with Trade Union would best suit her and her fellow workers as she has been elected by the workers to be their spokesperson she needs to ensure that she brings back a lot of information that makes easy for the other workers to understand what they are getting themselves into.
