William Wilberforce was born 24th August in 1759. His father was a rich merchant.
He went to Cambridge and met William Pitt the Younger.
In 1780 he became a MP and in 1784 he became the MP for Yorkshire.
He introduces his first anti - slavery bill to parliament in 1789.
The slave trade was abolished in the British Empire in 1807.
Slavery was ended and he died 3 days after his bill was passed in 1833.
