Инструкции для студентов
Connect your students with peers in another state by arranging a postcard exchange. This activity enhances geography skills and builds excitement as students learn about new places.
Find a teacher in another state for the exchange. Agree on a timeline, number of postcards, and required content so both classes stay organized and engaged.
Give every student a unique landmark to research and feature on their postcard. This ensures a variety of locations are shared and deepens each student’s knowledge.
Discuss expectations for neatness, factual accuracy, and creativity. Remind students to include a fact, a drawing, and a fun address so recipients get a full experience.
Send your class set of postcards and display those you receive in return. Encourage students to share what they learn about the other state to foster curiosity and classroom discussion.
Start by choosing a famous Georgia landmark, then use a 2-cell poster template: in the left cell, create an image of the landmark, including the state name; in the right cell, write a note to a friend with at least one fact about the site, a creative address, and draw a fun stamp.
Popular Georgia landmarks for student postcards include World of Coca-Cola, Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park, Cloudland Canyon State Park, The Atlanta Zoo, Legoland Discovery Center, Savannah Children’s Museum, and Chattahoochee Nature Center.
Students should write a short note describing the Georgia landmark they chose, include at least one fact about the site, make up a creative address, and add a fun stamp to their postcard.
Encourage students to research real photos of the landmark and use distinctive features, colors, and surroundings in their drawings. Including the state name also helps identify the location.
For younger students, focus on simple drawings and one fact. For older students, require more detailed research, creative writing, or additional facts about the landmark and its history.
