Częścią bycia uczniem jest popełnianie błędów. Czasami uczniowie będą stawiani przed wyzwaniami lub napotykają przeszkody. Przełożenie przeszkód na wymówki jest łatwe, ale pokonywanie ich będzie ważną umiejętnością na całe życie. Rozpoznawanie błędów to tylko pierwsza część; uczenie się od nich jest ważniejsze. Studenci mogą rozwodzić się nad swoimi błędami, nawet jeśli wydają się nieistotni dla innych, a to może powodować, że nie chcą oni podejmować pozytywnego ryzyka lub próbować czegoś nowego. Ważne jest ćwiczenie i zdawanie sobie sprawy, że błędy są częścią życia.
W tym ćwiczeniu uczniowie zamieniają błędy w doświadczenia edukacyjne. Indywidualnie uczniowie mogą popełniać własne błędy, ponieważ ich storyboard będzie przeglądany tylko przez nich i nauczyciela, ale jeśli zostanie to wykorzystane jako działanie grupowe lub partnerskie, uczniowie mogą chcieć tworzyć przykłady spoza własnego doświadczenia. W takim przypadku pomocne może być nawet podanie przez nauczyciela kilku błędów, które uczniowie mogą wybrać, i omówienia, jak zamienić każdy z nich w pozytywne doświadczenie edukacyjne.
