- When Oliver Cromwell died his son Richard Cromwell took over. He was a poor ruler and resigned after 8 months.

- After Richard Cromwell resigned parliament decided to bring back the king and found Charles l son Charles ll and offered him the throne This was known as the Restoration
- Could you come to england to be king?
- Definitely!!!
- When Charles ll died James ll took over.
- My brother James must be very jealous that they asked me to be king.
- King James ll was catholic. This was a problem because England had been protestant since 1535.
- Please come take over England. The english army will not fight back. The king should flee.
- Sure we will come take over England to get rid of the king.
- Parliament decided to ask William and Mary, the king and queen of Scotland, to come take over England.
- You'll never get me alive!
- Everything went as planned and William and Mary took over England with no deaths. This was called the Glorious Revolution.
