- Macbeth follows a floating dagger that leads him to King Duncan's room to murder him.
- Macbeth stabs King Duncan in his sleep with his dagger to death and then goes back to his wife, Lady Macbeth.
- Macbeth worries about his dirty deed of killing King Duncan but Lady Macbeth tells him that he should not think too much of the murder, or else it would drive him mad. She instead worries about getting rid of the bloody daggers.
