I felt like a wimp for sitting out an inning and not playing. I still kept my head up though and didn't let that stop me from playing. The inning went kinda slow but the Bullets (the other team) scored one.
This inning I was first up to bat, coming up to bat Was very nerve racking this time because this was a new pitcher and she was the fastest pitcher in the 270 league.
I took a few practice swings and I thought I've come all this way not to be stuck out. I came to hit. Then taking me out of my train of thought the ump said "batter". "k" I responded.
I stepped in the box and the pitcher that was taller than me by a little. She stepped on the mound and started her pitching motion. I took a step and and I made contact with the ball and the ball went foul. The ump called Foul and said " no balls one strike" and that's when I Knew I had To toughen up and be confident in the box.
I loaded up and she pitched and I stepped, pivited my back foot and hit the ball. It was a good hit but it wasn't a double or a tripleWhen I made it to first I felt my back shoot with pain. I had been so nervous hitting I didn't even realize that my back was hurting. I told Jesse My back hurt but I be able to make it through this last inning. He said this was the last inning so don't worry.
After that inning we shooke hands with teams and met at left field. We lost but even though we still scared them because that was the closest game they had yet. What I have learned is that even though you might feel down you need to perservere thruogh the tough time and work as best as you can even if you make a mistake or two.
