  • The end of the French and Indian War in 1763 was a cause for great celebration 
  • Stamp Act of 1765 
  • On February 6th, 1765 George Grenville rose in Parliament to offer the fifty-five resolutions of his Stamp Bill.
  • Boston Massacre of 1770
  • The Boston Massacre was a street fight that occurred on March 5, 1770, between a "patriot" mob, throwing snowballs, stones, and sticks, and a squad of British soldiers.
  • Boston Tea Party 1773
  • 1st Continental Congress 1774
  • Battle of Lexington & Concord 1775
  • The British were in a spot — all because of tea. The partial repeal of the Townshend Acts did not bring the same reaction in the American colonies as the repeal of the Stamp Act.
