- This setting is important because it shows how Esperanza went through a lot just to eat at the canteen because other kids were eating there, and she didn't even like it This reveals that Esperanza is sometimes a follower.
- This setting is important because it shows Esperanza and her friends, Rachel and Lucy, fussing over clouds. In the end, Esperanza told the to get out her house. Esperanza is petty because she told her friends to get out because of a little argument over clouds.
- Esperanza is self-conscious because she wanted to be like everybody else and she didn't have enough confidence to be different. Esperanza is petty because she cares about her being right more than her friends. But at the end, she is a little smart because she knows when something isn't right or you are put in danger, you should leave.
