  • Act One The Younger family is waiting on a check for Papa's life insurance. They live in South side Chicago in a small cramp apartment.
  • that money is going to be for me!
  • IS THIS CHECK COMING TODAY?!
  • Act One
  • You're not getting any money Travis.
  • Here Travis I have money.
  • Act Two
  • OH AGASI!
  • Beneatha I want you to be mines truly!
  • It's Momma , Walter Lee who is Momma's son, Ruth who is married to Walter, Beanatha Momma's daughter and Travis Walter and Ruth's son. Everyone is anxiuos while they wait for the money because everyone wants it to use it for different purposes but ultimately belongs to Momma.
  • Act Two
  • HALLEJUAH!
  • YOU DID WHAT!?
  • I bought a house in Clyboune pak
  • Also in this scene Travis asks Ruth for money and she tells him no. Travis asks if he can go to the supermarket to earn money and Ruth tells him no. Walter Lee soon comes in and gives Travis more than enough money. Ruth gets upset because she had already told Travis no because they didn't have money to spare.

  • In this scene earlier Asagi one of Beneatha's potential boyfriends. He gives her African Tribal clothing and suggests to cut her hair to show him her natural beauty.
  • Act Three
  • Momma tells the family that she has bought a house in an all white neighborhood.
  • A man named Linder comes and is from the community Clybourne and is trying to negotiate with the Younger family so they don't move into the neighborhood because they are unwanted.
  • The Younger family are getting ready to move into the new house. They realized that Papa earned every single dollar and they shouldn't let it go to waste.
