  • I'm Annie
  • Samuel Comforts Her
  • The book Woods Runner is about Samuel's journey to find his parents who were captured by the British. On his journey he runs into a little girl. Her name is Annie.
  • Mother knows it
  • I know that Annie changed Samuel because he now seems like more like a leader. That is why I refer to him as "New Samuel."
  • Annie is the most important secondary character in the book woods runner.
  • Counterargument
  • We think that we are the most influential secondary characters because he wouldn't have gone on this journey to save us.
  • "He found Annie huddled in some hazel bushes, crying. When she saw him she ran and threw herself at him grabbing the edge of his shirt, silent except for the soft sobbing" (Paulsen 88).
  • Conclusion
  • I am the most influential secondary character because Samuel feels the need to comfort me because it was traumatizing to see my whole family die in the attack. Samuel probably felt the same way as me because he went through the same thing.
  • "'Good night, Mother.' 'Good night, New Samuel'" (Paulsen 150).
  • Evidence for parents- "Gone. He could not stop crying, thinking of his parents wondering, worrying" (Paulsen 31). Evidence for Annie- "He had to find Annie. Then find his parents. That was all that mattered" (Paulsen 84).
  • I am the most influential secondary character because Samuel acts like a father when he is around me.
  • In conclusion Annie is the most important secondary character in the book Woods Runner.
