- Bucky's family lives in the town of Arkford, and it is under the control of King Hart. He is an unfair ruler who has made Bucky's town poor. One dark, gloomy night, he forgets the keys to the stable and he has to go get them.
- Two days...
- How long have I been unconscious?
- Bucky goes to the family's stable as the sky begins to darken. Storm clouds start to gathering as he locks his two horses in. Soon, it begins to rain on heavily and Bucky is forced to run back home.
- Bucky begins his journey home when he sees lightning flash across the blacks sky. He begins to feel the key tingle as he looks up in time to a blinding flash. Bucky is thrown against a trunk of an oak tree and he loses consciousness as thunder booms.
- Bucky wakes up in his room to find his whole body burning. His brother, Pete, notices and calls for mom. His mom hurriedly prepares soup and brings cold rags. He notices that the side of his arm is cool, where he notices a strange mark.
- The mark on his arm turns out to be a map. He and Pete visit the site where the lightning struck. Upon further inspection, the tree has the same mark as on his Bucky's arm.
- Curious, Bucky and Pete decide to follow the map and it takes them to a cave. As they wander around, they lose their bearings and can't find their way out. They begin to grow hungry and Bucky wishes for food. Strangely, the mark on his arm starts to tingle and the map changes shape before his eyes.
