The map leads them out of the dark cave, and they find a chest full of food. Realizing what happened, Bucky is overjoyed and is determined to bring the food back home. For good measure, he wishes for a pile of gold coins, that they find in the field on the way back with the guidance of the map.
When Bucky and his brother walk through the field, they see smoke rising from their town. They rush back to find their house in flames. Bucky is relieved when they find their mom and she tells them that the were-monsters, the warriors of King Hart, raided them and the neighboring villages.
Angered, the brothers set off with their two horses to investigate the other villages. They were no better off than them; Bucky wishes he knew how to stop the chaos. Just then, his arm began to tingle and the map changed shape like snakes slithering across his arm.
The map took them to another realm to under the rule of Alanus the Hungry who is known for having a strong army for conquering, Bucky delivers the message of King Hart's heartless rule. They conclude that because of King Hart's fear of other nations, he recruits were-monsters to do his dirty work. In exchange, the were-monsters are allowed to freely loot his kingdom.
After hearing this, Alanus, who is eager for battle, rallies his army and prepares to defeat King Hart and his were-monsters. Bucky and his brother ride along with them back into Hart's territory. As soon as they set foot near the castle, they are attacked by the were-monsters.
After a long battle, Alanus is victorious and under his rule, Bucky's family is given a good home. Hart is exiled from the land and the were-monsters were vanquished.
