- Whew! That was close! Well because of forest fire, everything is gone, but now ecological succession will occur.
- It's the process of change in the species structure of an ecological community over time.Currently, we are in the primary succession stage.
- Those green things are called lichens, and they are a pioneer species. Over time, they will weather down the rocks to create soil, which will lead us to the secondary succession. Rocks are abiotic by the way.
- I can't wait to see the final result!
- WOW!! Look how this place transformed!

- Well, all of the lichens broke down the rock into soil, which helped grow all of this green grass. This is known as secondary succession. Soon, more organisms such as consumers, producers, and other biotic factors.

- This place really has changed a lot! It was only rock before.

- This ecosystem hasn't reached it's full potential yet. It still need to reach climax community, the third and final stage.

- Since there is already soil, we don't have to go through the long process of primary succession.
