- Max and Worm are hitch-hiking a ride to Chivalry, Montana when a Prairie Schooner pulls up. Dippy Hippie invites them along and seems like a good person.

- Two police officers approach The Prairie Schooner; Dip gives Max and Worm alias names: Mike and Sally. The police officer checks out the bus and each child to make sure the story adds up.

- Worm is safe inside her book when Joanie continues to questions her. Worm uses her stories as an escape to not deal with the real world.
