It is important Montag met Clarisse because she allows him to question the "values" of society and change his perception of the way he viewed the world. She causes him to try and change society by opening not only his mind but others too.
Montag killing Beatty is an important scene because us as readers understand why Beatty wanted to die and accepted it. Throughout the book he would quote literature, because the books e burned he clearly read. His emotion towards this is guilt because he is taking away something from society that he loves too, but he cant admit it.
Montag walking on the train tracks is important because it symbolizes change. As he is walking away from the city, Montag is leaving behind his old life and starting a new one with the people just like him that loved to read but weren't allowed by society.
