- Before their land got taken away the cherokee tried to live their life like the settlers. Then there was gold found and the US wanted the Cherokee land even more. The cherokee had many rights taken away.

- In New Eohota the cherokee got kicked out of their lands in 1838 1/2 of their land had already been taken away from them. The cherokee had been wared 2 years before but when 7,000 soilders arried many weren´t ready for the long travel. Many had to leave belongings.

- While on the trail about 4,000 of the 16,000 people died. Mainly children and elderly but soon adults began to die too. All Cherokee were sad cause of the all the losses that happpened on the trail
- The American settlers wanted the land the Cherokee had but once gold was a demand for their land.
- Cherokee must go
- 2 years had passed and the americans were on their way to the cherokee land to take the lad from them.
- the trail of tears began and the americans settlers lead the cherokees out oftheir land.
