Elimelech takes his family to Moab leaving Naomi, Ruth, and Orpah as widows.
In Moab
Naomi returns to Israel with Ruth.
Naomi returns to Bethlehem.
Bethlehem
There was a famine in Bethlehem so Elimelech took his family to Moab where there was food. He died there. 10 years later his sons died, leaving the women widowed.
Ruth goes out into Boaz's field.
Naomi took her daughters-in-law back to Israel. But she told them to leave her and go to their own people. they wept and Orpah left but Ruth refused to leave.
Boaz commands Ruth to continue to work in his field, sending her home with plenty.
When they returned the whole town was stirred at Naomi's return and she changed her name to Mara. Ruth was a Moabite. They arrived at the beginning of the barely harvest.
Ruth asks Boaz to be her redeemer.
Threshing Floor
Boaz was related to Elimelech and a worthy man. Ruth decided to go out and glean in the fields she went to Boaz's and she found favor in his sight
Boaz tells her to only work in his field. And tells his workers to leave extra for her. He invited her to eat food with him. When she left to work again he told his workers to let her work in the sheaves.
Ruth tells Naomi all that happened to her and Naomi told her that Boaz was a close relative and their redeemer. So she lays at his feet at the threshing floor and asked him. He said there was another man closer to her and to ask him first.
