During world War II Adolf Hitler was in power and took over many parts of Europe. He captured the Jewish people and put them to work, concentration camps or killed them.
Many Jews fled Denmark with the help of the resistance (known as the sewing club) to Sweden
The Germans were defeated and World War II ended. All the surviving Jews were set free from the concentration camps.
