As a last 'job', Artemis constructs the C Cube, and trys to sell it to a shady, multi-millionaire named Jon Spiro with his bodyguard Arno Blunt. However, Spiro double crosses Artemis and attempts to kill Artemis and Butler, but Spiro can't open the C-Cube.
Bulter is injuried during the attempt and is fatality wounded. Artemis gets in contact with a fairy named Holly Short and she saves Butler's life. However, the process made him older.
When Jon Spiro finds out that Artemis is alive he sends in a 'Metal man' and a 'monkey' to capture Artemis so he can open up the C Cube. The 'monkey' is a dwarf, Mulch, that owes Artemis, and then bulter's sister, Juliet, takes out the 'Metal Man'.
As a plan, Artemis gives himself up to Spiro to retrieve the C-Cube, when he escapes to steal it back, Spiro and Arno Blunt are there to capture him again.
When Spiro thought he had won he goes to a rival company and tries to steal it's invention. However, it was part of the plan Artemis made for Spiro to be there. So he takes the C-Cube and escapes while alerting the police who arrest Spiro.
For payment, the fairies demand that Artemis, Bulter, and Juliet undergo a mind wide erasing their memories of the fairies. They agree but Artemis hid several ways to to remember. The fairies found most of them but not one that went with the Dwarf Mulch.
