- I'm Mr. Bentley. I recently read The Way of Kings. This book was written by Brandon Sanderson
- The genre of this book is 'fantasy'. I say this because the book has kings, magic, and epic battles, all of which are trademarks of this genre. Moreover, it's 'high fantasy', and not especially realistic.
- One of the main characters is a guy named Kaladin. He gets stuck being enslaved in an army where he has to help carry large bridges that soldiers cross over across large, open chasms. His life is miserable because the work is so hard. I wouldn't want to be him.
- My favorite part so far is when this group of warriors fights the chasmfiend. These are large creature with multiple legs. Lots of minor characters die, and this is a point where the author puts in serious character development.
- I'll be an advocate for this book. Although it's fantasy, I still really buy into the human characters because they act like people I know. Also, the action is pretty riveting, and the mythology is original.
- I want to read Words of Radiance next because it's the sequel to this book, and I've enjoyed the characters in the first one. It's also a book from my preferred genre. I even own a copy of it, so I might as well read it.
