  • Jefferson wanted to have a weak and small national government. Because he didn't want the government to be super powerful like a king.
  • Hamilton's View of Strength of National Government
  • Jefferson wanted a farming agriculture economy. Because he wanted to Americans to be independent. He wanted everyone to be and have small farms. No trading.

  • Jefferson wanted to have the people and states run the country. Because once again he thought if we had a strong national government or a president it would be to much like a king.

  • Hamilton wanted a very strong and respected government. Because he felt if we let the people to do it that America would destroy itself because he thought people were selfish and out for themselves
  • Hamilton wanted to have economy where there were there was a national Bank, cities, company, and have a lot of trade. Because he wanted America to be like Briton were it was strong and very involved in the world.
  • Hamilton wanted the elite to run the country. The elite were white, wealthy,educated men . He wanted this because he thought the common people couldn't because they weren't educated and didn't have lots of money.
