Storyboard Text

  • George, Lord Digby II, is a strong advisor to King Charles I. He has encouraged the king to arrest the 5 members of parliament which was a failure. He is one of the kings most influential advisor in convincing the King he should go to battle with parliamentarians.
  • John Hampden whom was on the Parliamentarian side of the war provided great accomplishments on behalf of the Parliamentarians. He was among the five members of parliament who were wanted by Charles I for high treason who escaped the king's Wrath. During a case of unpaid ship taxes on Hampden’s part, although the courts voted in favour of the king 7/12, people admired the case and Hampden became well-known around Britain.
  • Why are you so foolish in siding with parliamentarians? Side with us because you cannot escape the king forever.
  • For thou I shall seprate myself from you Catholic fustilarian. God shall not choose one ruler, for the one true ruler is God himself.
  • That is preposterous! We’ve had this system since the beginning of time and it has not led to apocalypse. This is the correct way. You are all fools!
  • War upon war has occurred for a single power without the obligation to do what is right for the people is toxic.
  • The people cannot simultaneously, rule and be ruled. They need a righteous ruler to lead everyone into salvation.
  • Advisors are to remind the ruler of their duties to protect the rights of people, one ruler provides chaos and injustice.
  • God gave the kings the right not parliamentarians. God knows best. How dare you defy the word of the Lord!
  • God is the one true ruler, and none of us is above another nor God, how dare you question authority while Britain is falling to ashes!
  • Says you! You come from a family of convicts, and you know better than a King? I think NOT!
  • For you are supporting thieves, ship tax is stealing from the people of Britain why shall they pay for the King’s mistakes.
  • No man can do better than Charles. Stop challenging him and you shall see. He has God on his side and will defeat you if you dare challenge him
  • God provides what is best for his people, not to aid for the king. The people have a distaste for Charles, protecting the rights of the people and principles of God is what us Parliamentarians shall do.
  • I will not be subjected to your blasphemy! I hope to see you at the front!
  • For I will be standing over you protecting thou people from your sinister ways.
  • And so the English Civil War began,  in 1642 Charles I marched a group of soldiers into parliament with the intent of arresting five MP's, his failure lost him control of parliament and of London. Charles fled to Nottingham, England to raise his standard. Returning to England in August, 1642.
  • Charles I ran once again and began an alliance with the Scots who attempted to take back London from the New Model Army, who's leaders refused Charles I becoming King again and placed him on trial for Treason.
  • In 1644, during the Battle of Marston Moor the Parliamentarians were able to obtain the northern England for their control during this time, the New Model Army was constructed allowing the Parliamentarians to surround the Royalist, and cause Charles I to run, only to be handed in by the Scots, after turning himself in.
  •
  • Charles I was beheaded by the Parliamentarians in January 1649. His son however, Charles II obtained power, continuing the English Civil War leading Cromwell, and the New Model Army to invade Ireland, leaving 1/4 of the population dead. This becoming the third installment of the English Civil war.
  • Cromwell invaded Scotland and Charles II lead the uprisings of Scotland, only to be defeated in the battle of Worcester, this ending the English Civil War. However the New Model Army disagreed with the current parliament and Cromwell dissolved it.
