  • Attention all colonist!The British government has seen it necessary to tax all tea.From now on you will pay tax for tea.
  • I think it is time to lead a rebellion.
  • Outrageous!
  • How dare they! I think it is time to become a patriot!
  • We need our independence!
  • We need to do something about this!

  • In 1773 the British government imposed the Tea Act on the colonies.Outraged the colonist threw crates of tea in to the Boston Harbor.This became known as the Boston Tea Party.
  • Who are you people?
  • That is the last of them.
  • On May 10,1773 Parliament passes the Tea Act.The Tea Act was passed to grant the British East India Company Tea a monopoly on tea sales in the American colonies. The Tea Act would start the last spark needed to launch the the revolutionary movement in Boston.

  • At 10:00 AM on December 16, 1773, many colonist gathered at the Old South Meeting House to decide what was to be done about the tea and to plan the Boston Tea Party.
  • BOSTON HARBOR IS CLOSED DOWN AS A RESULT OF THE COLONIST'S REBELLIOUS BEHAVIOUR
  • The Boston Tea Party took place on the winter night of Thursday, December 16, 1773.It lasted about three hours.It was lead by Samuel Adams.The colonist disguised as American Indians for the event.Hundred of colonist participated.

  • During the Boston Tea Party 342 crates of tea were dumped into Boston Harbor.Over 92,000 pounds of tea were thrown away.In today's money more than $1,700,000 dollars of damage was caused.The colonist offloaded the cargo of three ships , Beaver, Dartmouth, and Eleanor.

  • Weeks after the Boston Tea Party, the 92,000 pounds of tea dumped into the harbor caused it to smell.The Boston Tea Party caused the British to shut down Boston Harbor until all the tea was paid for.
