People Who Traded Were Called Merchants. They Often Traded Food, Vases, And Many Other Things. Some Weaved Clothing And Had Special Skills. They Had Specialized Jobs. Other Special Jobs Were Blacksmiths, Weavers, And Many Others. They Traded With Other People.
This Is A Brahmin Priest In Prayer In The Temple Holding The Holy Text, Known As The Vedas. It Is Written In Sanskrit. They Were Polytheistic, Which Means That They Believed In Many Gods. We Do Not Know What Their Religion Was.
This Civilization Had Irrigation. They Grew Wheat, Barley, Garlic, Sesame, And Many Other Fruits And Vegetables. Some Merchants Traveled To Mohenjo Daro Or Mesopotamia On Boat Down The Indus River To Trade. They Had Clay Pipes For Sewer Systems. They Had Wells For Water.
The Indians Were Surrounded By The Himalayan Mountains. That Caused A Natural Barrier. The Mountains Protected Them From Other Civilizations. They Had Seasonal WInds Called Monsoons. Summer Monsoons Brought Heavy Rain. WInter Monsoons Brought Heavy Winds.
Ancient Indians Wrote in Sanskrit. They Used Pictures For Writing. Many Symbols Meant Animals Or Nature. They used Stamps To Mark A Soft Clay.
The Caste System Was Organized By Job. The Lowest Were Farmers. They Were Poor And Had Hardworking Jobs. At The Top Was The Brahmin Priest. He Was The Most Powerful.
