Hi, I'm Djer and today I'm going to teach you the 70 day process on how to make a mummy as we tour the palace
First, before we start there are many tools you are going to need. You will need Palm wine, one hook, Balsam sap and tree resin, canopic jars, Natron, Oils more herbs and spcies, and Linen
Before you start, just know that this process carried out by special priests was done to preserve the body for the afterlife that Egyptians believed in. They thought the body needed to look the same after death as it did during life.
Step one was is to remove all internal parts that decay. For example, take out the liver and both lungs. In result you should have removed everything but the heart and put the organs in canopic jars.
Step two is to cover the body in Natron which is a mix of two salts to remove all of the body's moistue. After that, the body was washed and covered in herbs mixtures and resin.
Our third and last step of the day is to Wrap your Mummy. You need to use hundreds of yards of linen and carefully wrap it around the body. Also, in between wraps put warm resin on then cover it again and keep wraping. Lastly, you need to secure it with linen strips and put on the final cloth.
You now know everything you need to about the art of making mummys.
