Storyboard Text

  • 1. Exposition
  • 2. Rising Action
  • 3. Climax
  • Doodle is born with red skin, a big head, and a small body, causing him to have limits from birth. His brother is disappointed after hearing the limits of his brother and his family is worried about his limitations.
  • 4. Falling Action
  • Doodle! I'm coming! Where are you?
  • Doodle's brother pushes Doodle to his limits since he wants Doodle to belong and to not be the outcast of school. The brother makes him run, swim, and walk, even with his incapabilities to do all of these.
  • 5. Resolution
  • Doodle is left alone by his brother, since in his brother's mind, Doodle has failed to master all of the skills that his brother has taught him.
  • 6. Conflict
  • Brother, please wait! I can't keep up. But I can't tell you because then you will be disappointed.
  • The brother returns to look for Doodle, after feeling guilty for leaving Doodle behind after he promised never to do so.
  • The brother finally finds Doodle, only to discover that Doodle is red and bleeding, coming to the conclusion that his own brother is laying dead in front of him. Resting there, Doodle looks like a Scarlet Ibis, with his shriveled up body, turned in legs, and red skin.
  • One of the conflicts shown throughout the story is man vs. nature. From birth, Doodle has a hard time keeping up with people and their actions due to his body structure and disabilities. The storm precludes an already difficult thing for Doodle to do, keep up with his brother.
